Physical Description Jennifer is well built and lean. She doesn't really sport any remarkable features, apart from the fact that at a first glance she doesn't really look military. Well, she has the build for it after years of dedicated training, sure. But the way she carries herself, the way she looks and the smile she keeps on her face almost all the time, really doesn't scream military.

In a way, most people would get the impression that she would be an actress playing the role of a soldier, but not fully dedicated to it. There's always something in her appearance that seems to flirt with regulations a bit too much. Eyeliner, lipstick, cutsey items stuck to her uniform and other such things.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Jennifer for the most part is actually a very good soldier. That's when she gets to stop looking at pretty flowers and pretending to not be a good soldier. For some unexplainable reason that only the gods might be able to divine, for as good as she is at her job, Jennifer seems to make all the possible effort to be the contrary.

From the way she carries herself and the way she talks, one would expect her to be a trouble soldier. Though this is mostly when nothing is really at stake, for some reason she seems to always take advantage of downtimes to try and prove she is a trouble maker of sorts.

However when there are actual stakes on the line, she shows courage, dedication and reliability. In those situations someone paying attention might have the slight chance to see her ever present smile drop. Which is truly a rare occasion.

But, despite what some might call her disruptive personality, she is anything but that. Her jokes, her aloof, airheaded, pranking behavior might skirt regulations dangerously, but never with ill intent. She never actually causes trouble, nor pushes too far.

For whatever reason, she just likes to see people smile and laugh, and does her best to make others smile. Which in a environment with people who know they will be facing enemies bent on killing them, soldiers who will eventually get shot at, a smile and way to take some of those worries off their shoulder is always welcomed.

Every outfit needs a Jennifer to keep morale up, especially when the future looks grim and hope is in short supply.

Hey, if you have to have an ambition, might as well aim for whatever counts as beyond the sky!
Hobbies & Interests As one might guess, Jennifer's favorite pastimes involve anything having to do with other people and fun. Be they games, conversations, going out for drinks or reading. As long as other people are there and they are enjoying themselves, she will too.

Personal History Jennifer 'Harley' Simms was, is and will always be a career soldier. Because of how much she loves her country, she believes in its ideals and supports its politics... oh gosh damn, Jennifer cannot say that truly with a straight face even if she were able to ever speak with a straight face.

Oh no, Jennifer, nicknamed Jen for short, or Harley after the villain Joker's amazing, wonderful, sweet, so very funny, adorable and cute girlfriend, had joined the army for different reasons.

The reasons, well reason, Jen Simms had joined the army, actually the marines, is very simple and mundane sadly. Her father was a soldier, his father was a soldier as well, coincidently his father too, and wouldn't you know it... yeah, you can see where this goes. Jennifer comes from a rather long line of career soldiers, dating back at the very least two hundred years, which is kind of ridiculous if you think about it. How come most of them even survived long enough to have kids?!

Somehow they have survived and here she is. Well, it kinda did help that the Simms family has always been, erm, productive. Each generation sporting at least two or more children per branch, so in truth the Simms family is kinda of its own clan of sorts. Which makes family gatherings for holidays something of a mess. Like organizing a wedding two or three times a year, it is truly exhausting.

But that aside, Jen had no choice really in the matter. She grew up in a environment that prepared her for this. A happy home, a good childhood, supportive parents, and with a great deal of devotion and veneration for a life in the service. So for Jennifer there was never any doubt of what she wanted to be when she grew up. She wanted to follow in the footsteps of her father and older brothers. Her sister not so much, she did something truly horrific and became a surgeon, bleh... every family has to have a black sheep after all.

So Jennifer joined, to serve, to fight, to do some good, and maybe help keep the world a little safer. When the aliens came and began shooting down at cities, Jennifer had been lucky, being State side then. Her unit had been deployed to help with search and rescue operations. Actually before that she had been really lucky her base did not get obliterated from orbit first of all. Seriously damn lucky, even if it felt... disempowering, not being able to do anything to stop the destruction.

But that moment marked Jennifer more than anything in her life. Before that point, serving in the marines was a career, a job, following in the family business so to speak. Now, now it was personal. Aliens attacking Earth had scared her more than insurgents with guns shooting at her or anti personnel mines.

It scared her for the future of her family, the people she loved and held close in her heart. And, also for the first time in her life, it filled her with true hatred and anger. She wanted to do anything, everything, something, to protect those back home. No matter the cost to herself.
