| Personal History | Hannah was born in Sweden in 1987, the only child of Andre and Leah Matsson. Her parents tried several times for another child over the years but were never able to conceive naturally again so they decided to take in a foster child. Hannah had always wanted to have an older brother and was thrilled when her parents brought home her new brother Lucas. At first the two were distant Lucas seeming to think that life was going to be hell, but Hannah's perseverance at getting to know him soon paid off and the two were soon very close. Hannah idolised her brother and wanted nothing more than to be just like him. During her teenage years Hannah went through beatings, rape and eventually became catatonic thanks to an abusive boyfriend by the name of Thomas. It was only thanks to Lucas that she didn’t end up in a sanitarium for the rest of her days. At the age of seventeen her parents decided it was time for the family to move overseas but they didn't include Lucas in their plans. As much as Hannah hated her parents for leaving him she had no choice but to move with them and leave Lucas behind. A year later Hannah moved away from her parents and joined the military. She showed aptitude in her training for any number of fields but decided to follow a medical path and eventually become a field medic. She kept in touch with Lucas when she could but she didn't get to see him very much as they were always stationed in different countries and on different bases. When the alien invasions struck the world, she was in the thick of it helping with the wounded, it was during that time that she almost lost her own life when she was caught in an explosion and ensuing fire. Her torso was severely ravaged by fire and she has had several operations fir skin grafts, her back remains the worst scarred part of her body. It took her two full years to recover enough to ask to be reinstated into the military. Several later she was offered the chance to join the Stargate program and she readily accepted. |
