Personal History Victor Marcus Ward was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 5 February 1985. His mother, Ellen, was a chemist at the University of Toronto. His father once served as a navigator in the Royal Canadian Navy but retired when Victor’s youngest sister Jane was born. His father infused in him his sense of duty, honour, and patriotism, while his mother gave him her insatiable curiosity.

All his life, Victor worked out his mind and his body. He devoured books and spent much time in the gym. He failed to develop good time management skills and began to rely on other people and technology to make sure he kept on top of his tasks.

At age 18 he was accepted at nearby McMaster University, where he went on to earn an undergraduate degree in biology. He then transferred to University of Toronto, where he earned a Master’s Degree in biochemistry. It was while earning this graduate degree that the Goa’uld attacked Earth.

Following the defeat of the alien attackers, Victor enrolled in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Bioscience Officer. He spent twelve weeks undertaking Basic Military Officer Qualification at Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec. There he learned general military knowledge, the principles of leadership, regulations and customs of the Forces, basic weapons handling, and first aid, among other critical skills.

As a Bioscience Officer, Victor worked extensively on efforts to make use of any alien technology to aid in protecting Canadian Armed Forces and allied forces personnel. He was on the team that began evaluating the use of Jaffa helmets as personal protective equipment.

In 2012 he met then-Private First Class Emmanuelle Larose, a Biomedical Electronics Technologist from Montreal, and they became a working team. The two rotated among many units across the CAF and NATO, studying seized Goa’uld biotechnology and life support systems. From 2014 to 2016, they were cross-posted to the British Forces South Atlantic Islands base in the Falklands to conduct experiments on flight-capable recovered Death Gliders and tried to incorporate limited life support systems into Eurofighter Typhoons. They continued to work together through additional research and testing at CFB Comox. When they applied for the Stargate Program, they went for extreme weather training at the British Army Training Unit in Kenya. The two kept each other on their toes, competing on things like physical fitness and marksmanship.

In 2021, now Captain Victor Ward and Master Corporal Emmanuelle Larose joined the nascent Stargate Command operating out of Antarctica.
