It was all hands on deck, as John made his way down the hall, in his solid black BDU uniform with his rank on the collar, name on the coat, and simple zip up down the center. Of course, his sleeves were rolled up and his hands in his pockets as he strolled through the hallway. He nodded to various people till he found his way into the briefing room, which was massive.

The briefing room held two tables connected at the far side, making it an odd looking U shape setup. It had nice relaxing chairs on the outside of the U with a single chair at the top for the commanding officer to sit. There at the far end of the room was the General's office and another hallway and set of stairs that went down to the Stargate control room. On one side of the briefing room were multiple massive monitors mounted on the wall for briefings, and on the other side of the room was bullet proof glass that covered most of the wall. Everything was built solely for this technological marvel, the stargate, which was in perfect view on the other side of this bullet proof glass.

The Gate Room was at least two stories tall, and at least a couple hundred feet long. Vehicles of all types could easily be lined up on either side of the room, so the Gate could activate, and not cause any issues. Above was a retractable roof that reached all the way up to the Hanger, which lowered an elevator like left up and down into the room. On either side were retractable doors which were large and wide as well. This place was really well put together and state of the art. It was impressive even after the decade of reconstruction of several governments.

Scarlett had major butterflies as she made her way to the briefing room, it took a few minutes but she arrived at the big room pausing by the door. “I see you beat me to it Colonel” she offered Raynor a smile as she stepped into the room. “This is...Wow!”

Alexander wasn't far behind the Doctor, who he politely nodded to and stopped near the pair. He gave a quick pat down of the new multi-cam uniform he's requisitioned for himself and did a double check to make sure the velcro patches had all found their correct places. Stopping at the window he let out a slow, low whistle. "It's going to be a long time before I tire of seeing that view."

The newly minted Major Amy Carter was in gear but her weapons were being held at the gate-room. It was more in respect to the General than coz they thought she'd shoot up the place. She took a chair and place her helmet on the table before her. There were a few others here already and she nodded to each in turn. She'd seen the gate before, after all she had been stationed here for a few weeks already and while it was interesting while it sat ideal it wasn't much more than that... interesting. Not enough to draw her attention though.

"Yeah..." Raynor nodded in agreement with the two next to him. "I'd have to say, I can't get enough of seeing it. I have been in the reconstruction of this base, the flight to and from the mining planet, and even test flown our new fighters. This is still one of the most impressive things. Instantaneous travel to another planet? This beats them all. And we are only an hour away."

Josephine slipped into the room in silence, part of her eager to learn where they were going, the other part dreading everything.

James slipped into the back of the briefing room dressed in what he would roughly refer to as his civvies, of cargo khakis, and a grey tee shirt, a small notepad and pencil in hand. He sat slowly in what he hoped was an out of the way spot.

"Room! Atten-hut!" Someone on the far side of the room called out. Everyone came to the closest standing at attention as they could but those in massive amounts of gear struggled. The room went quiet and the SG field members spread around one side of the room as General Lockhart walked in.

"At ease all. Thank you all for getting in here in time," he started as he looked around at the people. It was packed more than anticipated but it was fine. The rest of the SG team members were starting to gather up in the gate room below. "As you all are aware, we pushed forward our information, which was shared by our good Doctor Hayes and Captain Andrews about the group called the Tok'ra, to our Asgard Liaison. After they processed this information, they requested that we take on another mission.”

There was a slight pause as the room digested the information he had shared. But that didn't last long before a beam of shimmering light appeared in the open empty place before them all. As quick as it appeared, it disappeared and a form was now in its place. It was a real life Asgard. With grayish skin, skinny limbs, large heads, and black eyes, about one meter in height, stood before them a real life Asgardian. There were countless UFO tales that had a striking similarity to this one, dubbed the "Roswell Gray" aliens. But what stuck out even more, if at all possible, was the two small implants placed on its body, one located above the right eye and another on the left chest.

“Perfect timing, Frigg,” General Lockhart welcomed the liaison with a nod and slight grin.

“General Lockhart, as you know, punctuality is very important. But it is good to see you once again. Due to time constraints, I would like to keep this as brief as possible,” the female Asgard spoke, turning her head to the General but being respectful enough to give him a nod back out or respect.

“Of course,” the general understood, though he was used to it. He knew that the Asgard weren’t the most social people. “Everyone, this is Frigg. She is here to brief us of Asgard's request for our first mission.”

“With your actions of crippling the forces of the System Lords fleets, and the information offered to us which lead to the discovery and ability to push back against the threat in our Galaxy, we would like to extend information of our own.

“Your desire to reach out further into your Galaxy and explore was already frowned upon by the former Asgard Counsel. But with the new Asgardian Counsel, we feel that it is better to allow your species to take a more active role in protecting your own Galaxy, and reducing our continued need of protecting this Galaxy and its inhabitants. But if you take this information and continue to reach out into the other planets, you take that risk and risk other worlds that may not be able to protect themselves as you are. That being said, your request for looking for allies may start by looking for one of the rebellious groups that called themselves, ‘the Valkeries’. There is very little documented evidence of their existence. So they may not be out there any more. I have given the last known planet address to your leadership,” the Asgard stopped and blinked her large dark eyes before asking one simple question. “Are there any questions for me?”

Scarlett took a deep breath and looked towards their Asgard guest. “What do the Asgard know of these Valkyries?”

"Asgard Counsel and the Goa'uld were to maintain a safe planet treaty. Monitoring possible threats to that treaty was kept in order to keep tabs on possible issue that my have arrived," the Asgard answered looking at the red headed human.

"Valkryies were the names of those who chose from those who fell in battle to fight in Odin's hall after death," Major Preston commented. "That would imply some kind of Asgardian connection, following the proto-germanic mythology inspiration. Could these be from people you helped in the past? How're they fighting the snakes off?"

"As explained, The planetary peace treaty did not allow either side from interfering in risk of the other being subject to retaliate," Frigg answered as she turned her gaze at the officer in question. "As for 'fighting the snakes off', information was not gathered in regards to their tactics."

Carter had been enjoying learning about the cultures that inhabited this galaxy, and about the Asgard who dominated another galaxy. But right now, the over all mission of the SGC wasn't as interesting as what they would be doing right now. "General, Sir's" she said raising and hand for attention. "With respect to the goal of the SGC, what is our current mission? Do we have a lead to follow?" she glanced around but continued "I am sorry if I speak out of line." she had most of this information already and they had been sitting around for days now, she was itching to get out there and do something!

The female Asgard muttered under her breath in her native tongue before looking back at the general who spoke up. It was obvious that she was irritated by that statement.

"Have you been day dreaming, Major?" the general questioned as he looked at her wandering if she had listened to the briefing from Frigg. "As Ambassador Frigg stated, they have given an address of the last known planet for the group named 'the Valkeries'. We are looking for allies against the Goa'uld, and they are the perfect candidates, along with searching for the Tok'ra. But we do not have an address to which we can search for them."

"If there is no more for me," the grayish alien spoke up, getting the General's attention. "It seems like my time was wasted, transporting down."

"Apologies, Ambassador," Lockhart replied before looking around the room. "If there are no more questions, we would hate to be rude and keep her here to long."

'Damn it' she thought, she had missed the part about a gate address. She didn't like Fryja and maybe that had clouded her mind a little. "Sorry sir." she said, meaning it. "In which case what do we know about the gate address? Or are we going in blind?"

"That is where Colonel Raynor and his team will be going to investigate. This will be a scouting mission," the general replied as he looked over the table. "As there are no other questions, Colonel, get your teams together and report to the gate room in one hour. Operations will be launching a MALP and its drone here soon. We should have more information for you when arrive. You are all dismissed."
